Really the end?

So, I finished Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows last night at midnight and then got up at 6 to be ready to teach summer school. Was it worth it? OF COURSE! This last Harry Potter book has officially become my favorite! Unlike most books and movies that are so hyped up and looked forward to (the series finale of Alias, for example), Rowling delivered! Other than a few minor issues like the final battle between Harry and Voldermort being only one line, it was beautifully done. Rowling managed to give the readers what they wanted in the end, but still throw in enough twists and heartbreak to make it a believable war. I think that’s what I most appreciate about Rowling: her ability to tell a believable, which I believe is very different from realistic, and engaging story. Great literature it is not; I don’t think the Harry Potter series will ever be considered a classic, but it is a great story, a story that has gotten many people reading. For that alone, I believe it is worth a look.

First Line: “The two men appeared out of nowhere, a few yards apart in the narrow, moonlit lane.”

Last Line: “All was well.”
